Biography

Marine Moletto began playing the mandolin at the age of 7, in the Alpine village of Tende where she grew up surrounded by music and mountains. Quickly recognized for her musical sensitivity and virtuosity, she trained at the Conservatoire des Alpes-Maritimes then at the Rainier III Academy in Monaco, before perfecting her path at the Université Côte d'Azur and the Nice Regional Conservatory, where she obtained in 2022 a Master's degree in pedagogy and musical research with highest honors.

Very quickly, her expressive playing and artistic personality led her to collaborate with numerous orchestras (Nice, Avignon, Saint-Étienne, Lyon), in lyrical productions such as Mozart's Don Giovanni or Schreker's Irrelohe.

In April 2023, Marine won the 1st prize at the International Competition of Modena (Italy) and thus entered history by becoming the first French laureate of three prestigious international competitions, after her 2nd prizes in Schweinfurt (Germany, 2021) and Tokyo (Japan, 2022). These distinctions opened new horizons for her: invited by Clément Rochefort on the Générations France Musique show in October 2023, she confirmed her growing recognition.

These successes also earned her invitations to renowned stages such as Les Musicales du Clocher, les Estivales du Médoc, or the Vichy Opera.

Her career takes a new dimension in 2025 with the release of her first solo CD Notes de Voyage, praised by critics for the poetry of her interpretation and the richness of her repertoire, which blends ancient and contemporary writings.

She is regularly called upon to play as a soloist with string ensembles and orchestras, but also enjoys designing solo programs, mixing ancient repertoires and contemporary creations, revealing all the richness and modernity of her instrument. She also performs in duo with guitarist Anne-Sophie Llorens (spring 2025 tour), or with the Trio Philéas.

Alongside her performing career, Marine is also very committed to the dissemination and development of the mandolin repertoire. After publishing in 2023 her first method Je deviens mandoliniste with Production d'Oz, she enriches the pedagogical repertoire in summer 2025 with the release of two collections of Christmas Melodies (for solo mandolin and for two mandolins).

Convinced of the importance of transmission, Marine teaches mandolin at the Conservatoire des Alpes-Maritimes and at the Riedisheim music school in Alsace. She is also president of the association Les Sommets de la mandoline, which works to introduce and make this instrument beloved by young musicians as well as the general public.

Combining virtuosity, curiosity and commitment, Marine Moletto now establishes herself as an essential mandolin artist, defending her instrument brilliantly on French and international stages.
